2D Etchings
I was inspired by the traditional use of acid etching, a process discovered in the 1500's, and have spent time exploring ways to utilise this method as a means of creating an exciting new 2-Dimensional series. This has been a true labour of love for me. It has been eye-opening to work from a new perspective, one that observes the minutiae of our world.
I was led to making this series by a long standing desire to explore the more macro elements of the animals I have spent years sculpting. Through these works I aim to capture the often overlooked textures of wildlife with precision and warmth.
Each copper etching is unique due to it being individually hand painted before the etching process. This means that, whilst they are a limited addition of 12, they will each have tiny differences which render them totally original.
